Frequently Asked Questions

Our Forklift Certification training supports operations throughout the USA and Canada and in other places that follow OSHA-style powered industrial truck rules. The program is designed to meet OSHA requirements for powered industrial truck (forklift) knowledge training. Certification should be renewed on a 3-year cycle. If an employee is involved in a forklift accident, the employee must complete refresher training.

Yes! Our forklift certification online training is OSHA-aligned and follows a 3-year cycle. Some companies offer a forklift certification for 1 year and charge less. That does not match the typical 3-year evaluation cycle under OSHA rules for powered industrial trucks. Our program is built around the 3-year renewal expectation.

Unfortunately, you cannot complete the online training if you have never driven a forklift. Please remember this training focuses on the safety rules and regulations required by OSHA and does not teach you how to operate this piece of equipment. If you have experience and know how to drive a forklift, this is the training for you. For people lacking experience operating a Forklift, we recommend looking for a local Forklift Rental place where you can practice the hands-on portion. Then you can complete the online Forklift Certification with us.
If you live in the greater Los Angeles, Atlanta, Dallas, or Houston area you can attend one of our beginner forklift operator courses at our Training facility. If you don’t live nearby, below are some other places where you can learn how to drive a forklift. Vocational school/training Forklift dealers Trucking schools Equipment rentals
Yes. The responsibility of the employer is to provide a safe environment for their employees. Therefore, the employer should provide you with this training. Unfortunately, because of the condition of the economy, many companies are not providing training to their employees in order to cut expenses.

One of the most important documents for you to show to your employer or future employer is the digital wallet card with your name on it. By presenting your digital wallet card, you are showing that you completed the forklift certification training and that you are meeting OSHA-aligned requirements. The training also includes several documents and forms you can print and present to your employer or future employer.

If you need proof that you have completed your certification training right away, you can download and print your digital wallet card as soon as you finish the course. The digital wallet card is your proof of completion and is available immediately after you pass. Optional printed materials may be available separately if you need a physical copy.

If you have some experience driving a forklift you do not need to go to a classroom to complete the certification; everything is completed online. Forklift Academy provides the knowledge training that OSHA expects employers to cover for powered industrial trucks. The training is an easy step-by-step process, and at the end you will take the test online. Once completed, you receive a digital wallet card with your name on it. Certification is on a 3-year cycle. Remember that your employer must still complete a site-specific practical evaluation before you operate equipment at their workplace.

The forklift certification that Forklift Academy offers, includes not only a test but several other documents. The certification includes a power point presentation, permit to operate documentation, safety operating rules, inspection sheet, a movie and the test.

There is no restriction to obtaining your forklift certification while having a bad driving record. The forklift certification is an overall regulatory safety training for operating a forklift.

After you complete the training, your digital wallet card is available right away so you can download or print proof of completion. Certification is OSHA-aligned for knowledge training and follows a 3-year renewal cycle. Your employer must still perform the workplace practical evaluation.

The Train the Trainer Kit is also a good choice for smaller groups since it allows you the flexibility to grow. With the ability to certify your employees, if you have new hires you already will have everything you need to complete their training, evaluation and certification without hassle.

Not only is that a hefty fine, but having safe, trained forklift operators can reduce the risk of injurires to employees and pedestrians as well as reduce the risk of property damage.
