No. The online course is suitable for both new and experienced operators. It is OSHA-aligned knowledge training only. Hands-on, site-specific practical evaluation is a separate step the employer must complete under 29 CFR 1910.178(l) and is not finished by passing the online test.

The digital wallet card issued after the online knowledge course is a record of completed knowledge training and is issued for 3 years. (The card face may still show a 36-month window.) The employer must still complete (and periodically repeat) a site-specific practical evaluation. OSHA’s 1910.178(l) evaluation cycle is at least every three years, and sooner after an incident or if the operator’s performance suggests refresher training is needed.

If you live in the greater Los Angeles, Atlanta, Dallas, or Houston area you can attend one of our beginner forklift operator courses at our Training facility. If you don’t live nearby, other places to learn hands-on operation include vocational schools, forklift dealers, trucking schools, and equipment rental companies. Online knowledge training does not replace that practical evaluation.
